This project aims to develop and apply a spatial transcriptomics infrastructure for full-length RNA isoform profiling in aging pre-neoplastic breast tissues to understand cancer initiation, and to create data sharing and visualization tools for the research community.

The project will first develop approaches to spatially map and analyze full-length RNA isoforms within tissue sections by merging long-read sequencing (LR-seq) and spatial transcriptomics. These technologies will then be applied to generate a spatial map of full-length RNA isoforms in healthy breast tissues and tumors during aging. Finally, data sharing and visualization tools will be developed to enable researchers to access and mine the generated spatial isoform expression data via a web resource.
