Training Component

US · IL NIH grant open #nih-5U54HD113179-03

Summary

The MARCH Training Component aims to enhance knowledge and skills for investigators and community partners to conduct research and improve care for pregnant women, reducing pregnancy-associated mortality and morbidity in rural and American Indian communities.

What they want

The training component will align with the thematic focus of MARCH, improving access and accessibility of care and enhancing understanding of key barriers and facilitators. Activities will engage and support community partners and MARCH investigators by enhancing knowledge about the influence of sociocultural, economic, and regulatory landscapes on healthcare access for rural pregnant and postnatal women. Training will cover cultural competency and research literacy, specific project areas, and continued professional development for research staff. The component will also focus on creating a pipeline of maternal health researchers through structured mentorship, skill development, and community engagement experiences derived from long-standing community partnerships.
