Summary
This project evaluates the Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach (SAIA) implementation strategy to enhance HIV Testing Services (HTS) in Emergency Departments (EDs) in Kilifi, Mombasa, and Kwale Counties, Kenya, through a cluster randomized trial.
What they want
The study builds upon the existing HIV Enhanced Access Testing in Emergency Department (HEATED) program. It will evaluate the HEATED-SAIA implementation strategy to improve HTS in a cluster randomized trial across all Ministry of Health EDs in Kilifi, Mombasa, and Kwale Counties in Kenya. The assessment will utilize the Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation and Maintenance (RE-AIM) framework to understand implementation strategies, impacts on linkage to HIV care, costing, and maintenance data. The program aims to improve HTS delivery by strategically engaging difficult-to-reach populations already interacting with emergency health systems.
Technical requirements
- Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach (SAIA) implementation strategy
- Cluster randomized trial methodology
