Project Summary Transition metal compounds have been used as therapeutic agents. However, treatment with these compounds, for example cisplatin, can lead to drug resistance and poor efficacy. Ruthenium has been studied as an alternative to other transition metals. The aims of this project are to carry out the synthesis, characterization, and biochemical evaluation of ruthenium-based compounds as potential pharmaceutical agents.
