What they want
The proposed research will investigate M1 receptors in non-treatment-seeking individuals with current CUD and matched healthy comparison participants. The study will employ a phased research approach, consistent with the NIDA Phased Innovation Award, involving [11C]-LSN3172176 PET imaging, exploratory MRI, and neurocognitive testing. The goal is to assess M1 receptor availability in humans and generate preliminary data to inform the development of effective interventions for CUD.
Deliverables
- In vivo assessment of M1 receptor availability in humans with CUD
- Preliminary data for interim assessment of research merits
- Greater knowledge of M1 receptor functioning in CUD
Technical requirements
- [11C]-LSN3172176 PET imaging
- Exploratory MRI
- Neurocognitive testing
