Summary
The Developmental Research and Mentorship Core (DRMC) provides support for innovative pilot projects in neuroHIV and HIV research, focusing on emerging scientific priorities and mentorship for the next generation of HIV researchers.
What they want
The DRMC will provide infrastructure and support for pilot investigations, progress evaluation, guidance, and mentorship. It will recruit and review innovative project applications, fund six pilot applications per year (two from DRMC, four from institutional support), and assist junior, senior faculty new to HIV, and underrepresented minority (URM) faculty in developing successful proposals. The long-term goal is to provide training and mentorship to awardees to foster and strengthen their careers in neuroHIV. The DRMC will integrate new project development, funding of preliminary research, mentorship, and establishing new interdisciplinary collaborations, working closely with the Central Administrative and Management Core (CAMC) and scientific cores.
